Growth habit: trailing or climbing by aerial roots; stems can grow from 20 to 40 ft. long; leaves opposite, pinnately compound, 7-15 toothed leaflets
Reproduction: seeds, root sprouts, and stems rooting along the ground; flowers orange, 2 in. trumpet-shaped in terminal clusters followed by 4 to 6 in. long, slender seed pods
Conditions that favor growth: commonly found in commercial nursery production areas; can sprout from sidewalk cracks and around building foundations
Cultural control: manually cut the vines to the ground and keep cutting back new growth until the energy reserves in the roots are gone; may take several seasons to eliminate
