There are 3 main reasons lawns fail to live up to clients standards when Lawn Care is involved here in Washington County Maryland.

The first reason is a low soil pH which will affect how the grass uses the nutrients in  the soil. If the soil pH is low the grass will not be able take up the proper amount of nutrients no matter how much is available. A proper soil pH is 6.5-7.0 here in Washington County Maryland for most lawns.

The second reason is soil compaction which will not allow the rain fall, air or nutrients to reach the grasses roots down in the soil. When nothing can penetrate compacted soil than the grass suffers because it cannot get the nutrients (food) from the soil to get to the grasses roots.
