Grosh's Lawn Service does not recommend aeration and overseeding if the lawn is not under a Lawn Care Treatment Program (LCTP) in Hagerstown MD and Williamsport MD .

Here is why we believe you will not receive the desired results:

When the aeration is being done  on your lawn at your home or commercial property all the weed seeds that are in the soil will have a chance to germinate and compete with what grass there is for the soil moisture here in Washington County MD.

Aeration will spread the weeds around the lawn making it worse.

 improper mowing height is also an issue as the shorter the grass is cut/scalped the more the soil is exposed to the sunlight allowing weed seeds to germinate and also stressing the grass due to scalping.

Over seeding will have little chance of success due to the competition with established weeds in the lawn.

It is also to dry now for aeration to work and we are past the window for grass germination for the year.

Our recommendation is to start a Lawn Care Treatment Program (LCTP) with Grosh's Lawn Service, we can do a fall winterizer to help feed the lawn over the winter here in Williamsport MD.

In the spring we can start on the crabgrass and also take a soil sample over the winter to tell us what the soil needs and has enough of and make to proper adjustments for your lawn in Clear Spring MD.

Then over the late spring and summer tackle the broadleaf weeds so that the lawn has less weeds and then aerate and overseed next fall it we are getting the proper moisture in Halfway MD.
