On this week's edition of Lawn Care by Grosh's Lawn Service we will talk with about Prickly Lettuce that can be found in containers when purchased already designed with plants.

Prickly Lettuce has small, yellow flowers that appear in late spring to early summer.

Prickly Lettuce is a winter annual so if you see something growing in your container check closely to make dure it is not the Prickly Lettuce.

Another weed to be on the lookout for is Annual Sowthistle which as the name implies is a annual weed.

The Annual Sowthistle has a long tap root so pulling or digging has little effect as if any of the tap root is left in the soil there could be new growth from the tap root left in the soil.

Annual Sowthistle can be found in landscape beds and if left to mature and go to seed, thousands of weed seeds could germinate  over time in your lawn and landscape beds if your lawn is not properly cared for.
