GROSH'S GRASS GAZETTE E-NEWSLETTER

Grosh May Newsletter Header
Hi there!

Welcome to the wonderful month of May! There’s lots happening in the landscape this month, as well as a couple of special holidays to celebrate. Memorial Day is Monday, May 31st. Let’s take time to remember our service men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we all enjoy today. May God bless them.

And let’s not forget Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 9th — make sure you remember Mom on her special day! Why not pick up a flower-filled container garden for your mom, wife, grandmother, or aunt (or any other person who’s been a “mom” figure to you)? The flowers will be easy to maintain and these special people will think of you each day as they enjoy their beautiful flowers all summer long. And we’ve got some other garden-related services that would make beautiful Mother’s Day gifts, too, so keep reading!

It’s Getting Grubby Out There
Grub Underground
As lawncare professionals, we see all the damage that grubs (and other wildlife, for that matter) do to our lawns. It can be a little difficult to know what’s causing your lawn problems, though. If you’re concerned, seeing brown spots, bare spots, or dead grass areas, give yourself a little bit of insurance by calling and getting into our schedule!

We diagnose what’s happening in your lawn and treat it effectively, so you have protection from grubs all season long. What’s the use in worrying when you’ve got friends like us to solve the problem?
Edge Those Beds!
Image Of Flowers
You know what’s a good idea while your lawn is being mowed? Edging your landscape beds! We offer a complete service so your lawn is mowed and edged cleanly and expertly, no jagged grass or wild blades marring your curb appeal or covering up your flowers. Let us know when you’re booking your appointment if there’s any place in your landscape that needs a little extra attention, and we’ll put the team right on it.

Landscape Spotlight

Annual Flowers
After Mother’s Day, we’ll be planting hundreds (maybe even thousands) of annual flowers at our residential and commercial projects. You might ask, “Is it really worth it to plant flowers that only last one season?” And we would answer, “Yes!” Although annuals like impatiens, petunias, begonias, and angelonia take a little more care, they are well worth it for what they provide in our gardens:
  • Vivid color all season long
  • The most bang for your buck
  • Massive curb appeal
  • Brighten the landscape and the mood
Be sure to get into our schedule soon, though, because annuals planted earlier in the season will have a longer time to fill out and look gorgeous before that summer heat sets in! Then all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the view.

Shrub Trimming
You’re not alone if you get confused about when to trim shrubs. Lucky for you, we take the confusion out of it! Our team knows what to do, how to do it, and most importantly, when to do it. If you’ve got some holiday or family gatherings coming up and you want everything looking neat and tidy, give us a call, but do it pretty quickly! Our schedule fills up for this type of service, and you don’t want to leave it to the last minute before that graduation party or cookout is here.

May Mulching
Eh, it happens to the best of us. You’ve been meaning to re-mulch your landscape beds, but now you’re realizing that you just can’t do it. Maybe you’ve run out of time, or the thought of it gives you a headache. Whatever the reason, we can handle it for you!

Proper mulching is essential for so many reasons, from holding weeds down to keeping the soil moist and finishing off your plantings. And a well-mulched garden just looks better, cleaner, and tidier, doesn’t it?
