Proper Care for Hydrangea in Hagerstown, MD

Give your HYDRANGEAS the proper care and you will be rewarded with BEAUTIFUL BLOSSOMS!


Pictured below is a hydrangea that is in a landscape bed of one of Grosh’s Lawn Service customers.

The customer asked us to cut it back because of the frost/freeze has killed the leaves.

                                                           This is next year bloom!





                       If you cut your hydrangea back you will be removing next summer’s blossoms!

                                   The only pruning required on a hydrangea is the dead wood.




                                  If you must prune a hydrangea remove no more 1/3 in any year.

                                 You can also remove any dead blooms called deadheading at any time .

You can also cut the blooms to make arrangements so make sure you take blooms with a long stem.




With proper care your hydrangea will reward you with blossoms each season!
