HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!

It is time to celebrate our country’s independence! We are so thankful and blessed to live in the USA.

HOT, HAZY, HUMID

The dog days of summer are here. That means you must be sure that your newly planted trees and shrubs are receiving the proper amount of water. Proper watering ensures that the moisture gets down into the soil for the trees and shrubs to use. It's best to water deeply and not as frequently.

SHRUB TRIMMING AND PRUNING

The Grosh's Lawn Service team has been very busy these past three weeks. For those in Hagerstown, Maryland, and the surrounding areas, have your shrubs been trimmed?

Take a few minutes in the cool air conditioning, and watch Tom explain proper shrub trimming on the Emerald Green Arborvitae that's found in Washington County, Maryland, in the video below.

Contact Tom today, using the Grosh's Lawn Service website, to schedule your shrub trimming and shrub pruning.

LAWN CARE TREATMENTS

It's time for treatment number three in the summer lawn application program. Even though summer brings dry weather, reduced growth, and physical stress to the grass, your lawn remains susceptible to insect damage, which is sometimes mistaken for drought.

The third lawn treatment application will help control various surface feeding, grass damaging insects. However, it's important to note that the treatment does not control grubs.

It's no secret that a beautiful lawn doesn't happen on its own in Washington County, Maryland. Take a few minutes and watch the Grosh’s Lawn Service YouTube Video on our lawn care treatments.

LANDSCAPE STONE

Are you looking to have a problem area repaired with custom landscape stones? Maybe you'd like to add a unique feature to your landscape this summer.

Watch the video below to see how the team at Grosh’s Lawn Service custom designed a landscape feature to help slow the flow of water across our client's property. The landscape design helped to stop the mulch wash out during torrential rains. Contact Tom today to see how Grosh's Lawn Servce can help you with your landscape project!

LAWN MOWING

If you see the Grosh's Lawn Service team out and about in July, that's because we are still mowing high to save valuable soil moisture. The higher grass means that more of the grass blade can shade the soil.

Lawns are now being mulched; the existing grass clippings will return to the top soil. This helps add matter and nutrients back into the soil for later use.

Take a few minutes and watch Grosh’s Lawn Service video on lawn mowing and lawn care to learn more.

BAGWORM DAMAGE

Now that we are in July, make sure you keep an eye out for bagworm activity. July is when the bagworm is most active.

If the bagworms are few and easy to reach, just pull them off and properly dispose of them. Make sure that you do not just throw the bagworms on the ground without crushing them, as this will not prevent them from coming back.

But, if your bagworms are out of reach, insecticide will be needed. Contact Tom at GroshsLawnService.com to help with your bagworm removal.
