GIVING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY

Tom, and the entire Grosh's Lawn Service family is committed to giving back to the community where they live and work. Recently, Tom teamed up with the American Legion in Clear Spring, Maryland, to help double their fundraising efforts.

In addition to donating $1,000.00 to help towards a new roof for the American Legion building, Tom committed to matching all donations, up to $1,000.00, for a sixty day period. Over the summer, Tom presented the second check to the American Legion to match the $1,036.00 the organization had raised, and double their fundraising efforts.

LEAF REMOVAL AND FALL CLEANUP

The leaves are falling and so are the temperatures! That means the Grosh's Lawn Service team is out and about, making sure the leaves are removed from lawns and landscaped beds in the Hagerstown, Maryland, area.

Yes, you will see us everywhere as we travel all over the Washington County, Maryland, area cleaning up leaves! Learn more by watching our leaf removal and fall cleanup video below.

AERATION
The time for overseeding has passed, as there is not enough time for grass seed germination. But, the good news is that there is still time to aerate your lawn and help it soak up moisture in the fall months.

Take a look outside. Does your lawn have  thatch build up? Did you know that aeration will help break down the thatch?

Check out this Grosh’s Lawn Service YouTube video, filmed while doing a lawn care treatment estimate in Hagerstown, Maryland.

FALL BULB PLANTING

Did you know that, according to the Farmer's Almanac, October is the perfect time to plant spring blooming bulbs (right after Washington County receives a killing frost).

Start planning now to have Tom and the team at Grosh’s Lawn Service plant spring blooming bulbs for you to enjoy next spring.

To see what is possible for your landscape, take a look at the landscape beds Grosh’s Lawn Service maintains in this YouTube video. Then contact Tom and let him know the colors and types of flowers that really stand out.

LATE FALL LAWN CARE TREATMENT

It is now time for Treatment #5, the late fall lawn care application of granular fertilizer. This treatment will promote vital food-making process, enabling the turf to produce a strong root system, store necessary energy for withstanding the stress of winter, and promote an early spring green-up.

Be sure to watch the Grosh’s Lawn Service video below to see the benefits of a lawn treatment program.

SHRUB TRIMMING

Now that the leaves are falling, some shrubs will require a trim so they will start regenerating growth and show that beautiful fall color.

Did you put off your summer shrub trimming? Don't worry, there is still time for some of those shrubs. However, please contact Tom to determine if your shrubs require a trim because spring blooming shrubs should be trimmed after spring bloom next year.

ORNAMENTAL GRASS

Now is a great time to have all your ornamental grasses cut back. This will help prevent the snow from breaking them down and also keep the winter winds from blowing them into fences and shrubs.

Did you know that handling ornamental grasses is very difficult? The blades on this grass are as sharp as a knife and will slice your fingers if you jerk on the grass and it is not cut clean. Tom has first-hand knowledge of this trying to get the grass out from around an AC unit.

To see the damage snow can cause ornamental grass, watch the YouTube video below.

STORM DAMAGE CLEANUP

As winter approaches we will see high winds, heavy snow, and freezing rain. If your property requires cleanup after a winter storm, Grosh’s Lawn Service has the equipment and manpower to help you out!

Check out the videos below to learn more about our storm cleanup services.
